Large in-person gatherings such as our traditional Multicultural Fusion Fest have been put on hold due to Covid-19.
This year the South Peace Community Arts Council went online to do a digital delivery! The response was overwhelmingly successful with almost 7000 people engaging and being involved.
Local residents agreed to film themselves teaching cultural lessons. There were baking, art, dance, and language lessons.
100 baking kits full of ingredients were assembled and distributed for households to bake along with the online videos.
100 art kits with all supplies needed were assembled and distributed to “art along” with the art instruction videos.
All supplies for the kits were able to be sourced either locally, or from Canadian small businesses. The video editing was arranged through our local KPAC. A full page ad ran in our local newspaper.
Funds for this huge undertaking were courtesy of generous local, provincial, and federal sponsors.
