The South Peace Community Arts Council was formed in 1969 as an umbrella organization to help coordinate the work of the cultural groups within the City of Dawson Creek and surrounding area. It has been designed to stimulate and encourage the development of cultural projects and activities as well as foster an interest and pride in the cultural heritage of our community. The arts council disperses over $12,000 worth of annual “grants in aid” funded through the City of Dawson Creek which provide assistance with the creative work of its members. We currently have seventeen (17) members, 14 of those receive annual grants in aide to help them continue to serve our community.
