Mission: the purpose of the society is to promote interest in and knowledge of things pertaining to horticulture AKA gardening.
We are a group of people, beginners and experienced alike, who enjoy or want to garden and to share their enthusiasm. Our members garden on apartment balconies, city lots and rural acrages/farms.
We work towards our purpose in a variety of ways, by having local guest speakers at regular monthly meetings, by sponsoring occasional provincially or nationally known guest speakers, by presenting at local clubs and schools, by participating in joint events with the regional library, fall fair board and other community groups, by having member plant exchanges and workshops ,and by participating in any other related activities.
We organize and run and the Horticulture section of the Dawson Creek Fall Fair and Exhibition in early August and, most years, a Tea and Tour at the end of July.
The first Thursday of the month in the upstairs meeting room (some exceptions) at KPAC, 10401 -10 Street, Dawson Creek, at 7:00 P.M. from February to December.
Visitors and new members welcome.
