Meet the Green Fools Instructors:

MIKE BATTIE: Unicycle  and Juggling – Mike has been teaching circus skills since 1985. He began sharing his performance expertise by becoming the resident juggling/unicycle/stilts instructor for Vancouver Cirkids with whom he worked for more than ten years. Mike spent four summers with the Ailanthus organization, teaching Street Performing skills as a vehicle for building self-esteem.

In 1995, he began training a group of Abbotsford youths to become the resident performers for the Western Canada Games in that city. This group of high-school students later went on to perform professionally with Mike at the PNE, Grey Cup Gala and in a movie. Mike annually travels to Winnipeg, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario to share his skills with “kids at risk” for the C.A.M.P. Program and C.A.P. Program as well as in schools, community centers, and at Festivals. Mike has also instructed for the Vancouver School Board’s Adult Education program, taught privately for schools, colleges, and corporate functions, and conducted workshops at Science World and a wide variety of festivals. He has personally introduced more than 30,000 people to the joy of juggling. Since 2000 he spends 3 months of each year teaching camps in juggling, unicycle, wire, stilts and acrobatics.
